About the Kirtan Competition
Raags of Gurbani is the largest Gurbani Kirtan competition in Canada, being held for the first time ever. The purpose of this event is to provide a prestigious platform for Sikh youth, empowering them to grow in Sikhi, build confidence, and showcase their talent. Additionally, this initiative aims to revive and globally promote the traditional Raag-based Gurbani Kirtan as established by Guru Sahib, preserving its rich musical and spiritual heritage.
Purpose of the Competition
These competitions are designed to encourage youth to connect deeply with Sikhi and to provide a respectful platform for them to express their love, hard work, and dedication to Gurbani Kirtan. The goal is to revive and highlight the traditional singing of Raags as given to us by Guru Sahib.
By no means should this platform be used to display ego or selfishness. Winning or losing is not the purpose – simply being part of this event is one of the greatest blessings and privileges.
Let us all approach this opportunity with humility, gratitude, and love – honoring the sacred tradition started by Guru Sahib and showing our respect for the divine culture of Raag-based Gurbani Kirtan.

Raags of Gurbani is not just a competition—it’s a movement. It marks the beginning of a new era, setting the highest standard for what Sikh Kirtaniyas can aspire to achieve in their lives.
1st Prize Winner:

Will receive an exclusive opportunity to professionally record one Gurbani composition in a studio.

The audio will be professionally mixed and edited in India.

A high-quality music video of the same composition will be produced by our media team.

This video will be promoted on national and international platforms and social media, helping the winner become a role model for other Sikh youth.

This is our way of inspiring and bringing more educated Sikh youth into Sikhi Parchaar, ultimately raising the standards of Sikh preaching through classical Gurbani Kirtan.
